Hi, I’m Marty Chappell, owner of Cash 4 Cars Rochester. If there’s one thing I can say about my job, it’s that no two days are ever the same! Every morning, I hop into my truck, coffee in hand, and get ready to drive all over the Rochester area, picking up cars, meeting great people, and making sure they get top dollar for their vehicles.
Winter in Rochester keeps things interesting, especially with the unpredictable snow and ice. Some days, I’m digging cars out of snowbanks or navigating icy backroads just to reach a seller. But that’s all part of the job; honestly, I wouldn’t have it any other way… until retirement, anyway, haha!
First Stop: Spencerport – A Silver Chevy Pickup
The day started with a call from a gentleman in Spencerport who had a silver Chevy pickup he was ready to sell. Spencerport, nestled along the Erie Canal, is always a scenic drive, even in the winter when the canal is frozen over. I arrived within 30 minutes, and the owner was thrilled at how quickly I got there—just like my Google Reviews say! After a quick look over the truck, we agreed on a fair price, I handed him cash on the spot, and off I went with the Chevy in tow.
Unexpected Call: 2014 Jeep Compass in Bergen
Just as I was heading back, my phone buzzed. A woman in Bergen had a 2014 Jeep Compass she needed gone ASAP. Bergen is a small town but full of character, and the drive out there took me through some beautiful farmland, even though the roads were a little slick from last night’s snowfall. I met the seller, made a deal, and before I knew it, I was onto my next call.
Third Stop: 2005 Silver Honda Civic in Rochester
Not even an hour later, I got another call—this time for a 2005 silver Honda Civic in Hilton. Rochester is my home base, and I know every shortcut and backroad like the back of my hand. I met the seller on the west side of the city, checked out the car, and after a friendly chat, we settled on a price. The owner was happy, I was happy, and I was on to my next pickup.
Final Call: 2008 Mazda in Chili, NY
Just when I thought the day was winding down, my phone rang again. A guy in Chili needed his 2008 Mazda gone today. Chili can be tricky in the winter, with those open fields allowing the wind to blow snow right across the roads. I had to take it slow, but when I arrived, the seller was impressed with how fast I got there. Another happy customer, another car sold, and another successful day in the books!
